GAT Systems is looking to add a new member to the team! Our company has been a B2B partner in the Custom Finishing industry for over 60 years. Our current opening is an entry-level Industrial Painter for our plant. The individual will support various departments by interpreting mechanical blueprints, cleaning and preparing surfaces, preparing liquid or powder coating paints, and applying paint to fabricated metal products. The ideal candidate will have high attention to detail, time management skills, flexibility and is self-motivated and collaborative

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities we are looking for:

  • Perform “Power-Wash” and other pre-painting activities on parts in preparation for painting/fabrication.
  • Apply liquid or powder coatings to fabricated metal products.
  • Utilize instrumentation to measure painting parameters to ensure compliance with OEM specifications.
  • Responsible for the application of industrial coatings in confined spaces.
  • Assist in appropriately rigging large objects for the purpose of moving them in the process of applying the industrial coatings.
  • Suggest tools and equipment to improve the operation of the unit.
  • Assist in the maintenance of a clean and safe work environment and observe good safety habits.
  • Adhere to all OSHA and HazMat Procedures with respect to the storage and handling of material in the area.
  • Responsible for reporting malfunctions of equipment or processing to the supervisor.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • 1-2 years of liquid/powder coating application experience is a plus.
  • Forklift experience is a plus, but not required. Will train.
  • Overhead crane experience is a plus, but not required. Will train.
  • Excellent stamina, strength, and dexterity.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
  • A willingness to learn and work overtime when required.
