Electrical Controls Technician

GAT Systems is looking to add a new member to the team! GAT Systems is a B2B partner in the Custom Finishing industry for over 60 years. Our current opening is for an Electrical Controls Technician in our electrical department. The individual will support the electrical department with troubleshooting, testing, repairing, and servicing technical equipment with electrical or mechanical prints. The ideal candidate will have high attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and is self-motivated and collaborative!

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities we are looking for:

  • Proven field service experience.
  • AC / DC electrical knowledge working with up to 480VAC to 24VDC.
  • Electrical Motors, mostly 208/230 240 and 480 VAC.
  • Ability to work under little supervision as well as in a group setting.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Display a positive, professional attitude and a high level of productivity.
  • Previous experience in customer service
  • Basic computer skills. Any IT knowledge a plus.
  • PLC Knowledge a plus, but not required. We use Schneider Electric, Automation Direct, and Allen Bradley.
  • HVAC Knowledge a plus, but not required.

Required Education and Experience:

  • AS Degree in Electronics or completion of technical training education in the electrical field
  • HVAC certificate is a plus
  • 1 year of electrical and field service experience

Travel

  • This role is required to travel a minimum of 25% of the time.
